The Sugar Creek Arts Festival is a free community event featuring more than 100 locally and nationally acclaimed artists, two live music stages, food trucks, and much more!
The festival was first held in 1983 by the Town of Normal as a way to drive traffic to Uptown while the students were away for the summer. What started as 16 artists selling from the trunks of their cars in 1983, has now been ranked as one of the nation’s top 100 arts festivals and draws upwards of 20,000 attendees each year. The Sugar Creek Arts Festival has also won the Pantagraph’s Readers Choice Award for Best Community Event two years in a row.
