Information

This exhibition will challenge the commonly held assumptions that Americans knew little and did nothing about the Nazi persecution and murder of Jews as the Holocaust unfolded.

Holocaust history raises important questions about what Europeans could have done to stop the rise of Nazism in Germany & its assault on Europe’s Jews. Questions also must be asked of the international community, including the United States. What did the US government & the American people know about the threats posed by Nazi Germany? What responses were possible? And when? This exhibition examines the motives, pressures & fears that shaped Americans’ responses to Nazism, war & genocide. M-W 8AM-8PM; Thr-Fri 8AM-4:30PM
