Freezin for a reason - Take the Shawnee Polar Plunge at Pounds Hollow Recreation Area. 2nd Annual Shawnee Polar Plunge into Pounds Hollow Lake to support the Friends of the Shawnee.

This is an opportunity to support The Friends of the Shawnee National Forest, the Equality Fire Department, and a way to say goodbye Winter and hello Spring. So come on and say goodbye Winter in a big way. Individual and group prizes will be awarded.  Onsite check-in will begin at 1:30 p.m. The plunge starts approximately at 3 p.m.

Children are welcome to participate at the discretion of the child’s parent or guardian. For individuals under the age of 18 a parent or guardian must sign a participant waiver at the event site. Hot beverages will be served at Pounds Hollow and fire rings will be set up.

Rim Rock’s Dogwood Cabins will host several events leading up to and following the Shawnee Polar Plunge, starting at 8:30 a.m. with a guided hike at a location in the Shawnee National Forest. Lunch will be served at noon and will be followed by Leave No Trace workshop at 1 p.m. with guest speaker Linda Hauser of the United States Forest Service.
