A trip filled with all that outdoor activity and exploration can make you hungry, so we’ve chosen four top places to dine while visiting the Trails to Adventure region. Think we missed something? Comment below and tell us where you like to eat!

Fat Patties

Fat Patties is Carbondale’s local burger shop, home to a variety of handmade, 1/3 lb. Angus Chuck burgers. Bring your appetite, and if you’re feeling extra hungry, indulge in The Bucky Dome, a hamburger topped with beef brisket, cheddar cheese, bacon, a fried egg and chipotle mayo all on a ciabatta roll.

RARE Chophouse

After a long day of travel and activity, few things taste better than a hearty dinner. RARE Chophouse offers the Mount Vernon community a warm and welcoming place to enjoy prime cuts of beef, classic comfort dishes, fresh salads and more than 1,000 wines from around the world.

Brick House

From cashew-crusted chicken to Italian beef to fish tacos, there’s truly something for everyone at Brick House in Anna. This local favorite is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and delicious, eclectic dinner options. Stop by for a home-cooked meal, and don’t forget to top off the night with one of the homemade desserts!

17th Street BBQ

17th Street BBQ, located in Murphysboro and Marion, has racked up the accolades for its amazing BBQ, including “Best Ribs in the U.S.” by Bon Appetit. It’s also known for its incredible burgers, like The Original, which has been served at the Murphysboro location for more than 100 years. While there, make sure to try the appetizers, like the southern fried dill pickles and the made-to-order pork rinds.
