Palm Sunday weekend, Glover leads the Music of the Baroque Chorus, Orchestra, and four world-renowned soloists—Yulia Van Doren (soprano), Elizabeth DeShong (mezzo-soprano), James Gilchrist (tenor) and Michael Sumuel (bass-baritone).
In Bach’s imaginative Easter Oratorio, a journey from a cavern’s darkness into the light of heaven. The chorus shines in Bach’s motet, “Komm, Jesu, komm.” Three Music of the Baroque premieres complete the program: solo works by Buxtehude and Purcell sung by tenor James Gilchrist, and Bach’s thrilling and rarely performed Sinfonia in D Major, BWV 1045. This concert is sponsored by The Negaunee Foundation. Held at the North Shore Center for Performing Arts in Skokie.
