The Civic Center Plaza is really where the heart of Elgin lies. The city hall is situated here, and all the important administrative offices of the city find a home here. The well-maintained plaza lies along the banks of the Fox River. Besides being the focal point of the city’s administrative services, the plaza also plays host to various events, like the Elgin Fine Arts Festival, Elgin’s City Skate, and the Puerto Rican Festival.
