The public is invited to gather at the Lower Dam in Rock Falls on Saturday, February 11th, at 9 am to view & learn more about the Bald Eagles that congregate along the open waters around the dam on the Rock River.
Winter is an excellent time to view migrating Bald Eagles gathered along the open waters near the dam. Bring your binoculars, a camera & dress warmly. Observe the Eagle Dance by a Kickapoo and Potawatomi tribe member, and learn how the bald eagle symbolizes Native American culture.
At 10 am the public is invited to the Rock Falls Community Building located at 601 W. 10th Street, to hear wildlife experts speak on Bald Eagles and other birds that are found along the Rock Falls Birding Trail. There will be vendors selling nature related items & food.
The event is free and open to all ages.
