2025 Holiday Festival of Lights - Rockford

Since 1989, the Festival of Lights has been a magical holiday tradition for families. What began as a modest display with 11 twinkling exhibits has blossomed into a breathtaking spectacle featuring over 85 lighted displays, illuminating the beauty of Sinnissippi Park.

Founded by local legends Joe Marino, affectionately known as "Mr. Fourth of July," and the Rockford Park District's John Peterson, the Festival of Lights is a labor of love for the community. Each display tells a story, whether crafted by talented volunteers, local organizations, or businesses. Visitors will find a blend of cherished classics and brand-new installations for 2025, showcasing the event's commitment to evolving while preserving its nostalgic charm.

This free, family-friendly drive-through experience is made possible by a passionate volunteer committee dedicated to repairing, enhancing, and introducing fresh designs to the park every year.
