Dedicated in 2026, the visitors’ center can orient guests as they begin their visit to Historic Nauvoo and enrich their experience while they are there.
The Nauvoo Temple Visitors’ Center is the newest of three visitors’ centers within Historic Nauvoo. Located near the Nauvoo Illinois Temple, the Temple Arrival Center, and the FamilySearch Center, this visitors’ center is a great place to learn about the history and importance of Nauvoo’s original temple, built from 1841 to 1846. Visitors can also learn more about the current building and the value of the House of the Lord to Latter-day Saints today. The visitors’ center has orientation services, visitor amenities, and several exhibits. Many of the displays are interactive and great for children. There is also a theater showing a short film. Join the guided Temple City tour of the Weeks, Hunter, and Gheen homes before or after your time in the visitors’ center.
