Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African-American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a federal holiday. Join us in Quincy as we celebrate all weekend long with a huge variety
On June 13th, our Juneteenth Community Gala will be held at the Oakley-Lindsay Center of Quincy. We will kick it off with a social hour from 5-6 pm, dinner and program from 6-7pm, and live band starts at 7:30.
June 14th will be our annual community Juneteenth Festival at Washington Park in downtown Quincy, from 12 to 8:30 p.m. This will consist of all types of food vendors, local business vendors, informational vendors. There will be tons of kid’s activities including bounce houses, Petting Zoo, cake walk, and much more.
June 15th, 2025, the Voices of Juneteenth Celebrating Freedom Community Choir will be held at First Baptist Church, North 8th street in Quincy, starting at 2:00 p.m. This wonderful event will feature guest director Anita Watkins Stevens.
