Walldog Murals
100 W. Main Street, Danville, IL 61832
Public Art
Celebrate Danville and Vermilion County heritage by taking a tour of our famous Walldog murals!
Walldog sign and mural artists trace their trade back to the signpainters of old who painted advertisements on walls in communities all over the country. They worked like dogs in the hot sun and thus came to be known as "wall dogs".
A Walldog sign painter's reunion held in the summer of 2010 transformed downtown Danville literally overnight with approximately 125 artists from as far away as New Zealand and British Columbia. Additional murals have popped up in Danville and Vermilion County towns, illustrating our area's pride in our history and art.
