Sandwich Park District Freedom Days Celebration | July 3-4: The parade lineup starts bright and early on July 3 at the Sandwich Fairgounds, which will also serve as the location for a dazzling fireworks display when it gets dark. Day Two includes a tot trot, a one-mile fun run/walk, and a 5K race.

35th Annual Streator’s 4th of July Celebration | July 3-11: Why settle for one day of play when you can enjoy eight? Stop by as your schedule allows for fireworks, a parade, a carnival, diverse music acts, a food and beer garden, an emergency vehicle show and more.

Westmont Independence Day Celebration | July 4: Not only will this event celebrate the 4th of July in style, it will commemorate the Village of Westmont’s 100th Anniversary! The fun begins at 4:00 p.m., with food trucks, games, concessions and more.

Lake Forest July 4th Festival & Fireworks | July 4: Chicagoland favorite 16 Candles headlines the music lineup, leading into what the organizers describe as the North Shore’s greatest fireworks display.

St. Charles Fourth of July Celebration | July 4: One of the area’s top annual fireworks shows is back! Pottawatomie Park opens at dawn for family and friends who want to make a day of it.

Great Rivers Country

Alton Fireworks Spectacular | July 3: This aptly named bash at the Alton Liberty Bank Amphitheatre features live entertainment and a fireworks show that will produce a spectacle of light over the majestic Mississippi River.
