Springfield celebrates Juneteenth with five days of events
The Juneteenth Celebration is more than just a party in the park but it’s NOW a 5-day celebration full of education, community engagement, and free entertainment. Events happen at various locations throughout Springfield.
On June 14th at 6pm, join Lincoln Library (326 S 7th St) for the premier Juneteenth Talent Show. The show will feature dance, singing, comedy and more.
On June 15th at 5:30pm, come to the Y-block in downtown Springfield (4th St & Jackson St) and bring your lawn chairs for the Juneteenth Levitt Amp Concert.
On June 16th the Illinois State Museum (502 S Spring St) will be hosting the Freeish Block Party with art, vendors, music, & more. The party runs from 10am-2pm.
One June 17th, the Juneteenth Parade kicks off at 10am on Brown Street. Watch community organizations, bands, dance teams and more march in celebration of the holiday.
On June 17th & 18th, Comer Cox Park (Capitol Ave & Martin Luther King Jr Dr) hosts the Juneteenth Celebration. Join the celebration with food, games, music, prizes and more. The celebration starts after the parade on the 17th and 9am on the 18th.
