Fly through the trees on an exhilarating ride down Aerie's Alpine Coaster! The first alpine coaster in Illinois, this exciting gravity coaster is perfect for adventurers of all ages. With nearly 4,000 feet of track, 7 hair-pin turns, and 8 waves/twisters, it's easy to experience the thrill of a ride like never before. The coaster is located on a hill and is reached via the Grafton SkyTour (additional charge).
What's an alpine coaster? A lift system pulls a coaster car up the side of a mountain (or river bluff). Gravity brings riders down on a scenic track, winding through forested hillsides on a trip down unlike any other. This coaster system is designed to get daytime riders on the tracks year-round. Under-glow lighting stretches for the whole track, and nighttime rides are available during season.
