Everyone loves Autumn on Parade!
The ever-popular Autumn on Parade Festival is a volunteer-based organization held the first weekend of October. The first Autumn parade festival was in 1970 and opened with seven booths lined up on Third Street on a rainy day. Fifty-four years later, it has grown into an average of 180 booths surrounding the courthouse square.
Other fan-worthy annual events include the Olde English Fair at Stronghold Castle, Harvest Time Parade, and the Auto Classic–to name just a couple.
Spending the weekend? Word to the wise: make your lodging reservations sooner rather than later!
