Beautiful Memorial in tribute to WWI & WWII veterans in downtown Carterville.
The memorial is located next to the Heritage Museum downtown. It features plaques citing the names of WWI and WWII Veterans on one side and other wars featured on the opposite side. In a fitting tribute, the Veterans Memorial in downtown Carterville was dedicated on 11-11-11, Veterans Day. The Memorial was designed by the late John Yack and was part of a larger community effort that included establishing the Heritage Museum facility nearby.
