The site where Mormon leader, Joseph Smith Jr. and his brother, Hyrum, were killed by an angry mob on June 27, 1844, resulting in the Mormons' famous trek west.
You can also tour the visitors’ center and walk through the beautiful gardens, where a life-size statue pays tribute to Joseph and Hyrum.
