Catfish Days is almost here! Get ready for one of the largest festivals in Wilmington, IL.

Catfish has been a long specialty of Wilmington. They played a large part in initiating the event, Catfish Days, after Forked Creek Spilled over its banks and flooded the cellars of a section of Wilmington called Catfish Town. The first Catfish Days Festival was held in 1976 and is still running strong.

This festival is for all ages and has something for everyone! The festival will kick off with Teen Night on Thursday, July 20th, from 4 PM - 7 PM, and will include farmers markets, a carnival, food vendors, a fear factor competition, and music by DJ Roy Gregory.

Friday, July 21st, will be celebrated starting at 5 PM in Downtown Wilmington and North Island Park Park. Saturday will have many family-friendly activities, such as face painting, tractor races, reptile shows, line dancing, and fireworks. Food vendors will be open until 2:30 AM. Hillbilly Rockstarz will be on the main stage starting at 8 PM.

The festival will continue on Saturday, July 22nd, at 9 AM. Immense yourself in tournaments, markets, parades, scavenger hunts, horse carriages, a carnival, a beer garden, food vendors, and laser shows. No Decision will perform on the main stage starting at 8 PM.

Sunday, July 23rd, will include a breakfast buffet, car show, coloring contest, pie baking contest, carnival rides, sensory time, and garden tours. The Wilmington community band will begin at 6 PM.
