Join in on the fun St. Patrick's Day Celebration in Galena.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade & Shamrock Shimmy Race is hosted by the Galena Elks and Galena ARC. A "fun for the whole family" parade including marching bands, costumed clans and floats.
Shamrock Shimmy Race
Grab your friends for a fun 5K through downtown Galena! The Shamrock Shimmy 5K will take place on Sat., March 16 at 11:15 am - The 5K will start and finish behind the Elks club/in front of the Old Market House. $30 entry fee with t-shirt, drink token, water, raffle ticket and goody bag. Awards will be given to the best dressed.
Don't miss the Mini Shimmy at 11 a.m. for children 10 and under (free).
St. Patrick's Day Parade
Taking off at 2pm the parade will take over main street featuring an impressive 30 floats. The parade line-up starts at 1:30 pm by the Downtown Galena Post Office.
