Heron County Park Wetlands Boardwalk

The Wetland Boardwalk is one of the newest additions to Lake Vermilion in Danville, IL. Handicapped accessible, the floating walkway is the second longest in Illinois. It is accessed by West Newell Road and on the north end of Lake Vermilion.

950 foot floating boardwalk. Songbirds, season migratory birds, and waterfowl such as Canadian geese, mallards, wood ducks, kingfishers, green herons, and American egret all flock to the area. Also includes an observation tower to take in the "wide-angle" view.
