Just down the street from the Nauvoo Temple, experience Nauvoo with this historic 1840s home as a base for all your adventures. Owned by the Lamoreaux family of Historic 1840s Nauvoo, sleeps ten comfortably.
“We owe recovery of the Nauvoo bell to the Lamoreaux family”. Come and find out more about the controversial (and conflicting) stories surrounding the rescue and transportation of the Nauvoo Bell—stories posted throughout the house. Within walking distance of the Nauvoo Temple, and has a modern addition with all the amenities. Although situated near Old Nauvoo and the wonderful historic sites down on the “flats,” the home sits on quiet end of Knight Street and backs to a large communal back yard with a well-equipped pavilion that is also available for day-rental. Perfect for large groups or small families.
The home sleeps ten comfortably with five bedrooms–four of them in the historic part of the house, and one in the loft. Two have king beds, and three queens. The large living room downstairs has lots of lounge and sitting room and a gas fireplace. The kitchen and separate dining area provide all the appliances and kitchen needs for a large family. A large, double-wide driveway for plenty of parking. The house addition includes a istoric stairway that was moved from a 150-year-old bank and a full service bathroom with Jacuzzi (and shower) on the main floor. There is also a full bath in the basement (with shower), and a half bath in the loft. There is a washer and dryer for guest use downstairs, and the home is centrally heated and cooled for year-round comfort. High speed Internet access, cable TV, and DVD player all for guest use. The deck out back is a perfect place for a BBQ or for relaxing on those warm summer evenings while enjoying the gentle summer breeze.
