Relax with the whole family at this unique and peaceful place to stay in the middle of the 900-acre Franklin Creek State Natural Area.
Mill Spring Cottage has 2 bedrooms plus loft sleeping area, 2 baths, kitchen with all amenities, open concept kitchen, LR, DR and offers modern amenities in the middle of a 900 acre State Natural Area. There is easy access to hiking, fishing, trail running, bird watching, cross country skiing, and much more! The Grist Mill stands as a welcome and interpretive center with a working water-powered grinding operation.
Just to the north of the cottage, you can find the 4,000 acre Nachusa Grasslands that has 120 Bison roaming on their land! Dixon is just 15 mins away if you need the hustle and bustle of a city with great restaurants, shops, and activities.
There is plenty of parking and you will have access to the house and the acre of land surrounding it, all within the State Natural Area.
There is even an external 30amp/120volt outlet and fresh water hookup for trailers and RVs.
Come, relax, and have a good time!
NOTE: This Airbnb is run by the Executive Director of the non-profit organization Franklin Creek Conservation Association and all proceeds go to the mission of the organization to care for the natural areas of Franklin Creek for current and future generations.
