Charming Mount Carroll of Carroll County welcomes the Christmas season with activities to get you in the holiday spirit on December 1-2.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children at the Mt. Carroll Library from 4:15–5:45 p.m. and then parade to the courthouse square for the Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. They will also greet everyone after the tree lighting. Toys for Tots will distribute gift bags to all children.

Holiday shopping at Market and Main occurs at the Kraft Building on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will feature 15+ vendors offering a wide variety of holiday gifts, baked goods, and more!

The historic Halderman House will be open for tours on Friday from 4–8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. This Italianate-style house was built in 1854 for Nathaniel Halderman, an early settler of Carroll County and Mt. Carroll’s first mayor. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Admission is $5 each.

Other activities include a holiday scavenger hunt sponsored by Fika Boutique, Paint with the Grinch at College Street Creations, the Mari and Lukies Tacos Y Mas food truck, Sean’s Hot Cocoa Stand, Ruby’s Coffee Coach, and much, much more!
