Red Carpet Corridor

Celebrate the Mother Road’s 100th anniversary with a full weekend of nostalgia, small-town charm, and family-friendly fun at the 19th Annual Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival. Spanning 100 miles and hosted by fifteen participating communities, this two-day event invites travelers to slow down, explore, and enjoy one of the most iconic stretches of Route 66 in Illinois.

Each town along the corridor—Joliet, Elwood, Wilmington, Braidwood, Godley, Braceville, Gardner, Dwight, Odell, Pontiac, Chenoa, Lexington, Towanda, Normal, and Bloomington—will roll out its own lineup of activities. Expect everything from local festivals and art sales to classic car and motorcycle shows, live entertainment, yard and sidewalk sales, and antique and craft vendors. Visitors will also find an abundance of delicious food, historic sites, free museums, and unique mom-and-pop shops that highlight the region’s Route 66 heritage.

Whether taking in scenic miles, shopping for roadside treasures, snapping a photo with Elvis, or collecting passport stamps and commemorative giveaways, guests will discover something memorable in every community.
