Southern Illinois Honey Festival is held in the Valley of the Arts, Downtown Makanda, IL. Makanda borders the beautiful Shawnee National Forest, the gateway to Illinois’ finest state park, Giant City, and is located 8 miles south of Carbondale.
Highlighting bees and honey with honey vendors, educational materials, crafts and a honey tasting contest. begins at 10 am. See bees in a glass hive and watch the fascinating bees as they work.
