Springfield celebrates Juneteenth with several days of events
The Juneteenth Celebration is more than just a party in the park but it’s now a multi-day celebration full of education, community engagement, and free entertainment. Events happen at various locations throughout Springfield.
Here are some of the highlights:
On June 12th Springfield Southeast High School (2350 E Ash St) will be hosting the Mr. & Miss. Juneteenth Pageant show.
On June 14th, the Juneteenth Unity Parade kicks off at 10am at Martin Luther King Jr Drive & South Grand Ave. Watch community organizations, bands, dance teams and more march in celebration of the holiday.
On June 14th & 15th, Comer Cox Park (Capitol Ave & Martin Luther King Jr Dr) hosts the Juneteenth Celebration. Join the celebration with food, games, music, prizes and more.
June 15th will feature an Outdoor Revival at Comer Cox Park
On June 19th at 6pm, come to the Y-block in downtown Springfield (4th St & Jackson St) and bring your lawn chairs for the Juneteenth Levitt Amp Concert.
