DeKalb County History Center explores the diverse stories that are part of our county’s history; gathers people together through exhibits, programs, and research; and inspires people to apply this knowledge to enlighten the decisions of tomorrow.
DCHC, in partnership with the Joiner History Room, includes exhibits, research archives, and a collection dedicated to preserving DeKalb County’s past. DCHC is committed to sharing our history with current residents and visitors while looking to the future by serving as caretakers of the collection and by offering educational programs that help people realize their impact in our county. Sycamore Fire Preservation Company also houses their 1923 Stuz Fire Truck on our grounds. Our facilities are equipped with picnic space outside, so you can bring along a snack or lunch for your visit. Parking is available on-site.
