The Rose Hotel is believed to have been constructed around 1830 by James McFarland, and operated as a tavern and inn serving Ohio River travelers. It is currently run as an Inn.
Built 1812, one of the oldest "hotels" still in existence; listed on the national register of historic places. The stately home with a sweeping verando and gazebo over looks the mighty Ohio River.
