Established in 1970, the museum's purpose is to preserve Warren County's artifacts and educate about their importance. Seven different exhibits are open to the public.
The Warren County Historical Society was founded as a non-profit in 1968 and opened its museum in 1970 in the old Roseville High School. After 38 years in Roseville, the museum moved to its current location in Monmouth in 2009. Over the years, the community has worked hard to collect and preserve the historical items that represent the history of the county and those who have lived there.
The tradition of preservation and exhibition continues today, as museum staff work to save and document the region's history while sharing this knowledge with the public. Exhibits include The March of War, Country School Room, Grandma's House, History Retouched, Industrial Ag, Made in Monmouth, and The Agriculture Room.
