Patrick Groth starts every workday at 3AM, handcrafting the breads and pastries that his bakery/cafe Incredibly Delicious is now known for. His work ethic is only one element of what makes the restaurant so unique.
Incredibly Delicious, a charming bakery/cafe in Springfield, is ideally named to describe the initial remark a customer will utter upon first taste of anything on the menu. It also neatly sums up the ambiance of the store. Located inside the historic Weber House, a 19th-century mansion in downtown Springfield, you’ll feel transported to another time as you first walk in.
Patrick has cultivated an atmosphere that references French influences because of the admiration for the time he spent studying at the French Culinary Institute.
Post-graduation, in August of 1995, he started Incredibly Delicious after ordering 500 pounds of chocolate and realizing that his mother’s oven could not handle the full task. He took his dream of starting a French bakery one step further when he located himself inside the Weber House, taking advantage of its unique charm and atmosphere. A pastry showcase, a modest kitchen, and one small dining room later, Incredibly Delicious was born.
With the motto “Life is Short…EAT DESSERT FIRST,” Patrick makes no qualms about where his shop’s specialties lie. Lunch is served six days a week, but chocolate is his favorite food, and one highlight of the dessert menu is the flourless chocolate cake. Patrick insists that he’ll never tire of dessert because it’s his biggest passion. And if you have just one taste of anything on the menu, dessert might become your biggest passion too!
