A Quad Cities tradition is just around the corner – 19th Century Christmas at Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House. Visit these beautiful mansions decorated in the splendor of the holidays.
It’s time to get your jolly on! For our 2022 Christmas at Deere-Wiman House event, we will be implementing a (free) timed-entry ticket system for guests to tour the house in early December.
The number of tickets available is limited to 30 per half hour, so ordering early is suggested if you want to ensure that you secure a spot. There is a half-hour window in which to arrive for your allotted time slot. Once you have started your self-guided tour of the first and second floors, you may stay as long as you like. Select a date and an entry time, print out your registration confirmation, and present it at the door.
The 1872 Deere-Wiman House, home of John Deere’s son, Charles, will be adorned with beautiful and festive Victorian-era decorations for guests to view at their leisure. As you peruse the living areas of the Deere family, who resided there from the late 1800s until 1976, you may envision the joy and laughter of children playing with the 1930 Lionel Train set and the child’s toy oven/range on display. Or, you may imagine the lovely fragrance the intricately decorated 1890’s perfume bottle contained.
