Air Race Classic Terminus

Mt. Vernon is deeply honored to serve as the terminus for the 2026 Air Race Classic—the proud conclusion of a remarkable cross-country tradition celebrating courage, skill, perseverance, and the enduring legacy of women in aviation.

As racers cross the final threshold into Mt. Vernon Outland Airport, they bring with them not only miles traveled, but history made. We are grateful to be the community where this inspiring journey concludes—where achievements are celebrated and lifelong memories are created.

The celebration begins on June 26, as racers arrive and are welcomed with a decompress party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On June 27, the community is invited to a youth-focused aviation event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring free Young Eagles airplane rides, opportunities to meet inspiring women pilots, hands-on activities, aviation education, and family-friendly fun. That evening, guests will gather for a cocktail reception.

Events continue on June 28 with a debrief breakfast, judging, and an awards banquet at 6 p.m., honoring the racers’ incredible accomplishments.

The participants will depart on June 29, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and achievement that will resonate in Mt. Vernon for years to come.
