Bay 54

Bay 54 is located inside a former firehouse in downtown Oswego, Illinois. The building was originally constructed in 1954 and served the community for decades as part of the village’s fire protection district.

The space that now houses the lounge was once part of the building’s apparatus bay, where fire engines were stored and dispatched from Main Street. Today that same room has been thoughtfully restored and reimagined as an intimate cocktail lounge. While the building has changed over time, the character of the space remains an important part of the experience. Bay 54 was created as a place to enjoy a well made drink in a comfortable setting. The focus is on classic cocktails, a curated selection of bourbon and whiskey, and a bar designed for conversation. The atmosphere leans more lounge than bar, with comfortable seating, warm lighting, and music that complements the room rather than competing with it. Because of the size of the historic building, seating is intentionally limited so the space always feels relaxed and welcoming.
