As one of the first houses built in Jerseyville, the Cheney Mansion is a 12-room mansion featuring vintage clothing, military artifacts, toys, pictures and other items of historical interest.
Serving as the Jersey County Historical Museum, the mansion is available for touring. Haunted Tours of Cheney Mansion are available on Saturday nights by advance reservations. Call 618-535-1584. Tours are available with advanced reservations. Jersey County Historical Society Geneology Division (behind Cheney Mansion) is open: Thursday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
