The Galena 5K Stair Challenge, hosted by The Galena Area EMS District, Galena Police Department, and Galena Fire Department, is an annual event honoring heroes of 9/11 and local first responders.
With both competitive and non-competitive options, participants can choose from a 1-lap fun run/walk, where dressing as a favorite hero is encouraged, or a challenging 7-lap stair race.
The event features a team challenge, online registration, and various awards. All proceeds benefit local first responder organizations, while finishers receive T-shirts, refreshments, and the satisfaction of supporting their community.
