Enjoy free summer guided tours, led by Nachusa Grasslands Interpreter, Heather Herakovich.
Join Nachusa Grasslands staff and volunteers on hikes exploring preserve areas outside the bison units. Learn about our flora and fauna, management practices, and ways you can become involved in our efforts.
Meet at the Nachusa Grasslands Visitor Center, 2075 Lowden Road, Franklin Grove, Illinois. You should be able to drive your vehicle from the Visitor Center to the trailhead.
Dress for the weather. Always wear long pants, socks, and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended, especially for ticks, gnats, and mosquitoes. Face masks are optional, but you are welcome to wear one.
Please arrive at the Visitor Center 15 minutes before the start of the hike, as the group will leave promptly.
