Located on the east side of Alton, the 702-acre Gordon Moore Park has been host to a variety of collegiate and other amateur sporting events.
There are a total of 10 youth / softball diamonds that includes two lit baseball fields along with a third, Lloyd Hopkins Field, the home of the Alton River Dragons, Alton’s Prospect League baseball team. Five of the seven softball diamonds include lights.
Two synthetic multi-purpose fields with lights recently opened increasing the number of fields to 10 for sports like soccer, football, lacrosse, rugby, and others.
The park is also home to the Raymond Simpson Tennis Center, a 9-hole 5,985 foot disc golf course, and Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.
