Memorial Holiday Fest: A Season For Caring

For years, Central Illinois has known this major Christmas event to be Memorial’s “Festival of Trees.” Well, it’s time to usher in a new era as it is now being called Memorial’s Holiday Fest.

Before, it was located in the Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, but it can now be found all over the downtown area.It will still feature beautiful trees and wreaths, the gingerbread village, ice skating, arts and crafts, and even Santa! This year the event will be free of charge and open for all to attend during two consecutive Saturdays, Nov. 27 and Dec. 4. The theme for this year, in collaboration with Downtown Springfield, Inc., is “A Season for Caring.”
